Facing unapproachable odds seems to be a habit, rather than a predicament. It could be all in our minds, but still we feel overwhelmed and daunted at the tasks, yes multiple, before us. I mean, when was the last time you were faced with only one hard thing at a time. They come in pairs, sets, droves…crashing over and over like waves from the sea.

It starts with one step forward, maybe just a tippy toe step, but forward movement, none the less. We feel braver as we nudge the next foot and begin a steady march toward our looming foes. One step at a time. Each movement on shifting sand. Onward and onward we go, as our footing becomes surer and our resolve absolute. One…two… three deep breaths and then lunge full force, engulfed in the struggle before us once again.

Each battle we face sharpens our minds, deepens our strength, and cultivates our resilience. We are conquerers of our own lives.
