Desire. Need. Crave. Yearn. There are some things we cannot live without. They aren’t the typical necessities of survival, but they are just as integral to our well-being. These are the treasures found deep in our hearts. They’re more valuable than gold, diamonds, or anything else as tangible or material. They are the spoils of a life well lived; the wisdom of laugh lines, the ache of mended hearts, and the joy of bonds forged through struggle, thrill, and delight.

As with the best things in life, these treasures don’t come to us on our own. They are built up over time, nurtured with family and friends, loves and loss. We don’t always recognize their life-giving sustenance unless the well begins to run dry and the thirst sets in.
